ING Commerical Banking
Inside Business Payments is the cash management tool ING provides to their business banking clients. Used are both financial professionals and managers working for medium to large businesses and service providers in several European countries.
The last few years, ING faced a lot of problems improving usability and reducing complaints. But changing the core of the (standard) application was not an option. Edenspiekermann was asked to improve the usability of the application by just changing the ING skin of the graphical user interface. The project resulted in a set of new stylesheets, improved usability, some improved functionality and better client reviews.
As a follow up of the ING InsideBusiness Payments project, I was asked by ING to develop a styleguide for a new online portal for Commercial Banking clients to be developed. Taking 10 example templates as a starting point, we designed a set of responsive templates and implemented those in the Twitter Bootstrap framework. For native iOS and Android smartphone and tablet apps, a visual translation to native app screens was made, based upon the iOS7 interaction patterns. Design principles and code were delivered by means a demo and online styleguide.
